This mural was conceived as a sort of three muses composition, focusing on some of the creative fields that happen in the building Art, Music, Dance, Theater.

This lead to a photoshoot that I flew into ithaca for, which had each model wear their own wardrobe, and bring props that show their respective fields. Holly with her red nose and hamlet reference (alas poor Yorik!) - Hank with his Cello, and G-Quan in the suit, hat and beads.
They are set against a field of oversized rainbow irises, on a verdant background of green. Irises are a symbol of wisdom, the spectrum of color they contain symbolize the diverse creative community that surrounds the CSMA and commons area. The green background symbolizes growth.
The result is an uplifting image, full of movement, that talks of the rich history of creative freedoms in the Ithaca area. A place i would find safe haven in as a weird art kid in the 90s.
This is a full circle piece for me, brining together my past and present through art. I am ever grateful for the team that made it happen. Especially Megan, Caleb, and the boards of Ithaca Murals and CSMA as well as my host, Asha, who opened her home for me.”
