‘Mood Swings’
Thinkspace Projects is pleased to present ‘Mood Swings’, the fifth solo exhibItion with Brian “Dovie” Golden out of Chicago, Illinois. ‘Mood Swings’presents sixteen new works on canvas.
Growth isn’t always gentle. It can nourish or overwhelm, often at the same time. ‘Mood Swings’ lives in the space between composure and chaos, where identity is shaped under pressure. The showcard’s featured work, inspired by Magritte’s “The Son of Man”, serves as a reminder that even in moments of stability, parts of ourselves remain hidden, unresolved, and still growing.’
This new series is a purposeful blend of portraiture, abstract line sketches and vibrant colors, wielded as a means of inviting others to examine complex topics like mental health and retaining hope.
About the artist:
Brian “Dovie” Golden (Born 1982) is a Chicago-based African American contemporary artist and painter. His thought-provoking, emotionally-charged creations invite viewers Into the issues of race, gender, pop culture and mental health.
Golden is a graduate of the International Academy of Design and Technology In Chicago, with A BFA In Graphic Design / Multimedia Production.
